Does the material I use make any difference in which router bit I use ? What is a router bit profile ? How long go they last, what’s their longevity ? Are they expensive, what do they cost ? CNC Kitchen Table Finishing CNC Kitchen Table Finishing is our topic today. Now that our projects milled and sanded, what do we do with it ? Do I stain it ? Do I paint it ? Keep it a single color or add multiple colors to it ? What steps can I take to protect my investment? How will we seal it ? Can I leave it natural ? These are all questions we’ll address here shortly. Log Materials Our projects made from softwoods purchased locally. Log furnishings are mostly made from softwoods so we’ll look at finishing techniques best suited for them. Pine, Cedar and spruce are common log furniture materials. They require specific finishing techniques. Cedar and pine both emit saps and oils. Sealing prior to painting or staining prevents bleed through. Look at a quality sanding sealer for this purpose. Sanding wood sealer locks the porous material.…

I’ll include an itemized list of all the project costs. The engravings run in steps to not burden the equipment. There’s no reason to push the router, equipments not cheap. A vacuum table is a device that sits atop of cnc machines and holds down materials thru suction. This gets the equipment to cut, mill or engrave materials without the moving or slipping of the material itself. Time’s not wasted securing material down, the vacuum table has done it for you.
